Privacy Policy — Plot My Space

This Privacy Policy explains how Plot My Space ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use our iPad, Mac and (in future) Android apps and our website at plotmyspace.com (together, the "Service"). We've tried to keep it plain-English.

The short version: your floor plans and project files stay on your device. We don't upload them, sell your data, or run invasive tracking.

1. Information we collect

Your plans and project files

Layouts, fixtures, imported CAD files (PDF/DXF), measurements and exports you create are stored locally on your device. We do not upload, view, or store them on our servers. If you enable an optional cloud sync feature in future, that will be covered by an updated policy and your explicit choice to turn it on.

Early-access and contact details

If you join our early-access list or email us, we collect the email address (and any details you provide) so we can contact you about the launch and respond to your enquiry. Website form submissions are processed by our hosting/forms provider on our behalf.

Purchases and subscriptions

Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store and managed using RevenueCat, which helps us verify entitlements. We receive anonymised purchase and subscription-status information (e.g. whether a subscription is active). We never receive or store your full payment-card details — those are handled by Apple.

Basic technical and usage data

Like most apps and websites, limited technical information (such as app version, device type, or crash diagnostics) may be processed to keep the Service reliable. We aim to keep this minimal and do not use it to identify you personally.

2. How we use information

To provide and maintain the Service.
To verify and manage your subscription entitlements.
To respond to enquiries and send launch or service updates you've asked for.
To diagnose problems, improve features, and keep the Service secure.

We rely on your consent (e.g. for marketing emails), the performance of our contract with you (to provide the Service), and our legitimate interests (to keep the Service working and secure) as our lawful bases for processing.

3. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us run the Service, under appropriate agreements, including:

Apple — app distribution and payment processing.
RevenueCat — subscription entitlement management.
Our website hosting / form provider — to deliver the website and receive contact-form submissions.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

4. Data retention

On-device data remains until you delete it or remove the app. Early-access and enquiry emails are kept until you ask us to remove them or they're no longer needed. Subscription records are retained as required for accounting and legal purposes.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under UK/EU GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email us at support@plotmyspace.com. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any email.

6. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

7. International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries outside your own. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect your information.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but keeping your plans on your device by default significantly limits exposure.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
